Add page numbers to a PDF and look at them on the page before you save. Put the number in a corner or in the center, and choose how far it sits from the edge. The style can be 1, Page 1, 1 of 12, or a line you write yourself. Number the whole file, skip the cover, or set the first and last page. The count can start at any number. Everyday files stay on your device. A large Pro file is sent to our server. There are nine positions: every corner, the middle of each edge, or the center. You can also change the size, set the number in bold, and pick a color that fits your document. It helps with reports, theses, contracts and anything headed for print, where readers need to find a page fast. On a phone the pages sit on top and the settings underneath. Page numbers FAQ

How do I add page numbers to a PDF?

Add the PDF, check the numbers on the pages, then select Add page numbers. You can move them and change the style before you download.

Can I number only some pages?

Yes. Open Pages and set the first and last page. Page 1 to page 5 numbers only those pages.

Can I skip the first page?

Yes. Turn on Skip cover. The cover stays blank and the next page is the first number.

Can the numbers start at something other than 1?

Yes. Set Start to the number the first numbered page should show. The rest follow in order.

Where can I put the number?

In any corner, in the middle of an edge, or in the center of the page. You also choose how far it sits from the edge.

Is it free?

Yes, on the free plan, for PDFs up to 100 MB and 150 pages. Pro is for larger files and more jobs in a day.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. The pages stay on top and the settings sit underneath. A normal file is not uploaded. A large Pro file is sent to our server.

Can I add a watermark as well?

Yes. Download the numbered PDF, then open Add Watermark and put text or a logo on the same file.
