  • PDF/A-2b — the archive standard submissions ask for
  • Pages, tables and images stay exactly as they were
  • Files are removed from processing within an hour

Turn any PDF into PDF/A, the ISO-standard format built for long-term archiving. Courts, government offices, libraries and company archives ask for PDF/A because everything the document needs — fonts, colour information and structure — is embedded inside the file, so it still opens correctly years from now. Your pages stay exactly as they were: no rebuilt layout, no re-flowed text. Broken structures are repaired on the way in, and the converted file is checked before it comes back. Free to start with no sign-up and no watermark, and files are removed from processing within 1 hour.

PDF to PDF/A — frequently asked questions

Is PDF to PDF/A free?

Yes — it is part of your free daily uses, with files up to 20 MB and 100 pages. Pro raises the limits for larger archives.

What is PDF/A?

PDF/A is an ISO-standard version of PDF designed for long-term archiving. Everything needed to display the document — fonts, colour information and structure — is embedded inside the file, so it does not depend on anything outside it.

Which PDF/A level does the converter produce?

The conversion targets PDF/A-2b, the level most archives and submissions accept. If a file cannot reach that level, it falls back to a compatible part of the standard so you still receive a valid archival file.

Will my document look different?

No. Pages, text, tables and images keep their original positions and appearance. The conversion changes what is inside the file, not how it looks.

Can I use PDF/A for official submissions?

PDF/A is exactly what many courts, registries and archives ask for. Check the exact level your receiving office wants — PDF/A-2b is the most widely accepted.

What about scanned PDFs?

Scanned pages are converted as they are: each page stays an image inside an archival file. Text that was already selectable stays selectable.

How long does conversion take?

Most documents finish in seconds — the work runs on our cloud pipeline, so nothing slows down your device. Large or damaged files can take a little longer because they are repaired and validated first.

What happens to my file?

It is used only to produce your PDF/A, then removed from processing within 1 hour. Nothing is made public and no account is needed.
