Sign PDF FAQ
Is Sign PDF free?
Yes. Signing a PDF is included in your free daily uses, for documents up to 100 MB and 100 pages. You can draw, type, or upload a signature and place as many fields as you need. There are no ads and no watermark, and Pro adds more daily jobs for busy weeks.
Is it safe to sign a PDF here?
Yes. Your document and signature are handled right in your browser, on your own device, so everyday signing does not send the file to our servers. For Pro users, very large documents can use secure cloud processing, with temporary files removed automatically. If you are signed in, the signed copy also stays in your History for 1 hour.
Will my signature look natural on the document?
Yes. Drawn signatures keep the shape of your strokes, and you can adjust the pen thickness and ink color before placing them. For the most authentic look, sign on white paper, take a clear photo, and upload it as a PNG or JPG. Then resize the signature so it sits neatly on the line.
Can I use Sign PDF for contracts and official forms?
Sign PDF is great for everyday agreements, rental forms, school permission slips, invoices, and internal approvals, wherever a signed PDF is accepted. Some banks, courts, and government offices ask for a specific certified signing process for high-stakes documents, so check the recipient's requirements before you send those.
Can I sign a PDF on my phone?
Yes. On iPhone or Android, open this page in your browser, pick the PDF from Files or Downloads, and draw your signature with your finger for the most natural result. Fields can be dragged and resized by touch. It works the same way on tablets, Mac, and Windows, with nothing to install.
How long can the document be?
Free covers PDFs up to 100 pages and 100 MB, plenty for leases, employment contracts, and multi-page application forms. You can sign on as many of those pages as you like. Pro raises the limits when you regularly sign long agreements or large scanned files.
What if I need to sign in several places?
Place your signature as many times as you need. Drag it onto each page or line, and the panel keeps a list of everything you have placed, so you can jump back to any field, move it, or delete it before downloading. Initials work the same way for contracts that ask you to initial every page.
How can I protect the PDF after signing it?
Open the signed file in Protect PDF and add a password before you email it. Only people who know the password can open it, which is a sensible step for contracts, salary letters, and ID copies. Share the password through a different channel, such as a text message or a quick call.
