How PDFTrusted handles personal data and documents — written to match how the product works.

Privacy at a glance
Where the file runsFree merge, split, compress, protect, unlock, watermark, and page numbers run in your browser. On Pro, a large job is sent to our server, and every Pro compress is. Repair tries the browser first. OCR and Office conversion always use the server.
How long files stayTask records last 2 hours. Stored copies are removed within 1 hour. Signed-in History keeps results for 1 hour. An upload that is not processed expires after 1 hour.
AIAI chat, summarize, questions, and Translate send the document text to DeepSeek. If that cannot finish the job, OpenRouter is the fallback.
Request signaturesA Pro feature. The file is kept so the people you invite can sign it, then the stored copy is deleted 30 days after the request ends.
We do not sell documentsYour files are used to do the job you asked for. The sections below name what else we store, and for how long.

1. Purpose of this policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information PDFTrusted processes when you use pdftrusted.com, why we process it, and what choices you have. It works together with our Terms of Service, Security page, and Cookie Policy.

“Personal data” means information that identifies you or can reasonably be linked to you — for example an email address or account ID. Document contents you process may also include personal data about you or other people; you are responsible for having the right to process those files.

2. Who this applies to

Shashank Pandey, Sole proprietor (individual, not a registered company), India operates the Service at pdftrusted.com. This is an individual sole proprietor in India, not a registered company. No street address is published. For privacy questions, email support@pdftrusted.com. The same details are on the Imprint.

If you process files that contain other people’s data (a class list, a client contract, a shared scan), you decide whether you are allowed to run that tool. We process those files only to deliver the feature you started — not as a public library of other people’s documents.

3. What data we process

Depending on how you use PDFTrusted, we may process:

  • Account data — email, name or display name if you provide it, authentication tokens, and account settings
  • Billing data — plan status, invoices, and payment metadata from our payment provider (not raw card numbers on PDFTrusted servers)
  • Support messages — what you send to support@pdftrusted.com or Contact
  • Usage & technical data — approximate location from IP, device/browser type, pages or tools used, error logs, and free-use counters needed to run limits
  • Document job data — files or extracted text required for a tool you run (see section 4)

We do not ask for more than the feature needs. We do not sell your personal data or document contents.

4. Your documents

Browser tools

Reading, annotating, and some image or text conversions can stay in your browser. Merge, split, compress, organize, watermark, page numbers, protect, unlock, repair, OCR, and Office conversion send the file to our server over HTTPS. Tool pages say which path they use before you start. A Secure & private badge when that path applies.

Secure conversion & helpers

Some tools need a short processing step outside the browser — for example Office/OpenDocument converts, HTML/URL/EPUB captures, OCR, and document helpers that summarize, chat, or generate questions. Those jobs transmit the file or the text needed for the request, process it, return a result, and clean up temporary job artifacts. The product should make it clear when a file will leave your device before you continue.

When you use AI chat, summarize, questions, or Translate, the text of your document is sent to DeepSeek (deepseek.com) to produce the result. If DeepSeek cannot finish the job, the same text can go to OpenRouter as a fallback. We send that text only to finish the request you started. We do not sell those files, and we do not use them as a marketing dataset. We do not claim that every model provider refuses to train on text they process.

5. Why we process data

We process personal data to:

  • Provide and improve the tools you use
  • Create and maintain accounts, sessions, and free/paid limits
  • Process payments and prevent fraud or abuse
  • Answer support requests and security reports
  • Meet legal obligations when required
  • Operate essential cookies/local storage — and cookieless analytics that set no cookies, as described in the Cookie Policy
  • Send product or billing notices related to your account (marketing email only if you opt in where required)

Legal bases depend on where you live and may include contract performance (providing the Service), legitimate interests (security, abuse prevention, cookieless product metrics) and legal obligation.

6. Sharing & providers

We share data only as needed to run the Service — not as a product we sell. Typical categories:

  • Authentication — Supabase for sign-in and session management
  • Social sign-in — if you choose to sign in with Google or Facebook, that provider tells us your email address and the name or profile identifier attached to it. We do not ask them for anything else, and we do not post anything to your account.
  • Payments — Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy as Merchant of Record. Card details stay with Lemon Squeezy.
  • Hosting & infrastructure — cloud hosts and workers that serve the site and run conversion or helper jobs
  • Analytics — cookieless, aggregate traffic and product metrics; no analytics cookies, no cross-site tracking (see Cookie Policy)
  • Model providers — DeepSeek for AI chat, summarize, questions, and Translate, and OpenRouter when that fallback is used. The text is sent only to produce that result.
  • Authorities — if the law requires disclosure
  • Business transfer — if PDFTrusted is sold or reorganized, data may move with the business under continued protections

Providers may process data in countries other than yours. Where required, we rely on appropriate transfer safeguards offered by those providers (such as standard contractual clauses) in addition to this policy.

7. How long we keep data

Account and billing records are kept while the account is active and for a reasonable period afterward for invoices, disputes, and legal retention. Support emails are kept as long as needed to resolve the issue and for ordinary business records.

Document jobs are designed for finish-and-download. Task records last 2 hours. Stored copies are removed within 1 hour. Signed-in History keeps results for 1 hour. An upload that is not processed expires after 1 hour. We do not keep processed PDFs as a permanent archive. Free-use counters live on our servers, by account, browser, and network. Clearing browser data does not reset them.

Logs and security signals may be kept for a limited time to debug outages and abuse, then reduced or deleted under normal retention practice.

To prevent free-trial abuse, when you start a subscription we keep one-way hashed identifiers (your email address, a random browser ID, and your IP network) for up to 24 months. The IP part is cleared after 90 days. These hashes can't be turned back into the original values and are used only to decide whether a free trial was already used.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain personal data, to object to some processing, to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, and to ask for a portable copy of data you provided. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority in your country.

To exercise a request, email support@pdftrusted.com. We may need to verify you control the account before we change or delete data. Some records (for example invoices) may need to be kept even after an account closes, where the law requires it.

9. Minors & students

PDFTrusted is built for everyday document work, including school uploads. It is not directed at young children. If you are under the age required to consent to online services where you live, use the Service only with a parent or guardian’s permission. Students follow the same privacy rules as every other user.

10. Changes

We may update this policy when the product or the law changes. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Material updates may also be noted in the product or by email if we have a working address for you. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy for future use of the Service.
